Our Purpose is to make a difference in the lives of our military by encouraging faith in the Lord Jesus
Christ. About one-third of the entire working population in the Tidewater area consists of military
personnel. We take seriously the great opportunity God has given us to reach out to people from all over
the world, located right here on our military bases.
There is a weekly Bible study held at the church to further Christian discipleship. Transportation
is provided for all church services and activities.
Outreach is a very important part of our Military Ministry. Every Monday and Thursday dedicated workers
go soul winning on various bases. This is an opportunity to meet new people and encourage everyone
for spiritual living. Hundreds of military personnel are brought to our church each year. A number of them
make decisions for Christ, and some answer God’s call to full-time Christian service. Since many of our
military are transferred to various places all over the world, it is our desire to help prepare them to share
the Gospel wherever they go. One of Our Military Outings Care Mail is a function of our military ministry.
We have a burden for the deployed military personnel of our church. While they are away, we send care
packages each month to help encourage them as well as do all we can to take care of their families left
on the home front.
Information concerning the Military Ministry is readily available by contacting our church offices. If you are
in the Military and are stationed in the Tidewater area, we would love to have you become a part of our
military family. Please contact us through our church offices to inquire of how you can be a part of
Gateway’s Military Ministry.
